*Teen Driver's Ed/Adult Driving Lessons
South Cherokee Driver Improvement Clinic is licensed by the Georgia Department of Driver Services to conduct the Teenage Driver Education Program. This program consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of private, individual behind-the-wheel training. This class includes the State Approved Defensive Driving Course at No additional cost.
Under current Georgia law, persons under 25 years of age can qualify for an insurance premium reduction if they complete a qualified driver education program. Drivers must maintain a clean driving record to continue to receive the reduction.
Effective January 1, 2001, under Georgia Law code section 48-7-20, if a dependent minor child of a Georgia taxpayer completes the Teenage Driver Education Program, the taxpayer is entitled to a tax credit of $150.00.
Upon completion, students will receive 2 state certificates: Drivers Ed and Defensive Driving.
The 6 hours of behind-the-wheel driving instruction will be with a licensed instructor who will first assess what is needed to pass the State road test, along with safe driving on streets and highways. Students will get experience on both rural and urban traffic, including expressway conditions and parallel parking.
ADULT DRIVING LESSONS
Training for non-teens and those who do not require classroom instruction. This is often completed in 2-12 hours, based on the student's skill level and in-car performance. A recommendation will be made by the instructor if additional training is needed. All driving instruction is done in our state certified vehicles. A Learner's Permit is required before beginning the behind the wheel training.
